CHEERing has become a host program for the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Program! Our first Entrepreneur, Isabel, will be part of the CHEERing team for the next six months.
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange program which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses, organizations and projects in European countries. This exchange gives young people the opportunity to experience and acquire the skills needed to carry out their own projects, witness and learn how we carry out our daily tasks and goals, and be a part of our team. For us, it is a great opportunity to cooperate with foreign partners and learn from their previous experiences and fresh perspectives.
Isabel’s work with CHEERing will address women’s empowerment with an emphasis on fostering women’s autonomy by combining health promotion (birth control, motherhood and breastfeeding advocacy) and the prevention of gender based violence (educational sessions, skill development, job search strategies, promotion of supportive networks among participants, etc.). Isabel is a graduate of Philosophy, Politics and Economy, and is currently studying a Master’s in Social Integration and Intervention with populations at risk of social exclusion, focusing on the prevention of gender based violence, cultural mediation and no borders activism.
