Today, CHEERing’s youth football team, CHEERing Utd., won the Premier League trophy for finishing first in the Anexartito League, Greece’s top non professional soccer league. Many players have made this possible for CHEERing over the course of the season. We thank our coaches, supporters, and players for another wonderful football season with CHEERing.

In April 2024, CHEERing Board Members Farzana Hakimi and Feraydon Rahimi spent a week in Barcelona training with the FC Barcelona Foundation. They presented to a group of other program representatives from many countries, and got to visit the FC Barcelona Museum and training complex.

CHEERing is partnering with Vitamin Angels, a global public health NGO whose goal is to reduce inequities in malnutrition by giving underserved, nutritionally vulnerable populations access to evidence-based nutrition interventions. The project will make vitamin A and deworming medicines available to children under 5, and multivitamins to pregnant women to refugee families in greater Athens….

Using a collaborative network of pharmacies, businesses, and NGOs, GIVMED works throughout Greece to redistribute medicines that would otherwise be wasted (see https://givmed.org/en/).
